Boldfit Raises ₹400 Crore in Series B Funding at ₹4,000 Crore Valuation

Boldfit Raises ₹400 Crore: Indian sports and fitness brand Boldfit has received ₹400 crore in Series B financing rounds led by Bharat Value Fund, run by The Wealth Company. The funding marks the valuation of the Bengaluru-headquartered company at ₹4,000 crore based on the analysis done by Entrackr using information from the filings by the company.

One of the significant highlights of the financing round is the founders’ ownership of the business. Founders Pallav Bihani and Aasshna Guptaa together hold a 78.23% shareholding in Boldfit following the recent round of investment. This makes the founders own significant ownership in the company despite the company attracting institutional money as it plans to scale.

This fundraising round comes at a time when Boldfit intends to consolidate its business in India’s sports and fitness segment by rolling out its products across the country via retail expansion, product development, manufacturing, and strategic acquisitions. It is important to note that Boldfit has witnessed revenues and profits grow in FY25.

Boldfit Secures ₹400 Crore in Series B Funding

Boldfit has secured ₹400 crore in investments from Bharat Value Fund in its Series B funding round. The investments were made through the issuance of 12,783 Series B compulsorily convertible preference shares or CCPS, priced at ₹3,12,926.47 per share, through regulatory filings obtained by Entrackr. As per the report, Bharat Value Fund was the only investor in the current fundraising round worth ₹400 crore. The venture capital firm is managed by The Wealth Company, which was earlier a part of Pantomath Capital Management.

With new funds in hand, Boldfit will be able to diversify from its online operations to increase its reach within the sports and fitness products market. With the fresh funds, Boldfit will look to explore options within physical retail, product development, and manufacturing, along with acquisitions in some chosen categories. This deal marks a major funding feat for Boldfit. The funds raised will enable Boldfit to grow while they build out their operations amid increasing demand for sportswear and fitness products in India.

Boldfit Raises ₹400 Crore: Boldfit’s Valuation Jumps to ₹4,000 Crore

One of the notable highlights of the latest funding round includes the valuation of ₹4,000 crore for Boldfit. As per the estimation of Entrackr, the valuation of the company has grown by 5.71 times from ₹700 crore in its Series A round to ₹4,000 crore in its Series B. It indicates that there is a considerable amount of increase in the estimated valuation placed by investors.

Valuation of a firm is a very significant factor in the fundraising process as it shows how well the investors value a business in terms of its growth prospects, market position, financial health, and prospects. However, having a high valuation does not necessarily indicate future profitability or success of the business.

Expansion of Boldfit into various segments in sports and fitness, along with revenue and profit generation, can provide the reasons for its increased valuation. Expansion of the physical retail presence and manufacturing capacity of Boldfit could make the business more diverse in nature instead of depending only on online transactions. The above figures have been calculated through Entrackr’s analysis of the funding round.

Founders Retain a Combined 78.23% Stake

The founders’ retained ownership is an additional feature provided by the Series B deal. In the context of the most recent share issuance, Pallav Bihani now has 77.45% of the shares in Boldfit, whereas the co-founder Aasshna Guptaa retains 0.78%. Hence, the total amount of their combined share of ownership now amounts to 78.23%. It may provide the founders with significant financial motivation in terms of the future company’s success.

In addition, it allows them to stay connected to the business strategy while attracting outside investors for its expansion. Investor considerations may include the founders’ ownership, among other aspects of analysis. However, it cannot be said who has more power in the decision-making process, as it can be affected by other aspects related to corporate governance. Thus, the most recent deal shows that Boldfit has managed to obtain significant institutional financing without transferring the majority of its equity share to the founders.

Bharat Value Fund Becomes Boldfit’s Largest External Shareholder

With the issue of the Series B shares, Bharat Value Fund emerges as the largest external stakeholder of Boldfit with a 10% stake, as per Entrackr. Bessemer Venture Partners holds an 8.63% stake and emerges as yet another major institutional stakeholder for the company. Bessemer had previously led Boldfit’s ₹110 crore Series A funding round in November 2024.

This round of funding becomes a significant milestone in the funding history of Boldfit. In addition to the financial backing that the institutions offer, depending on the kind of relationship, they could help in other aspects like strategic business planning, expansion, and even raising funds in the future.

There are some stakeholders from the world of Indian sports as well for Boldfit. Cricketer KL Rahul is reported to hold a 0.03% stake in the company, while tennis player Sania Mirza, along with other sports personalities like Manika Batra and Arshdeep Singh, also hold minority stakes. Sports personalities investing in a company from the sports and fitness segment is quite relevant, although the investments need to be segregated from endorsements and other such business activities.

Boldfit’s Revenue More Than Doubles in FY25

Financial performance of Boldfit is also an important factor for investment purposes. Entrackr reports that Boldfit’s operating revenue grew from ₹140 crore in FY24 to ₹304 crore in FY25, thus growing by approximately 117% since the revenue grew to more than double its previous-year level.

It should also be noted that Boldfit’s profits have increased. Thus, its profit increased from ₹16.82 crore in FY24 to ₹35 crore in FY25, or by approximately 108%. Thus, it appears that the brand not only increased its revenues but also improved its profitability in FY25. It is one of the factors that a company investing in growth might take into account.

Nevertheless, it should be noted that according to the latest report, Boldfit has not yet filed its FY26 financial statements. Therefore, FY25 is still the latest fiscal year in which Boldfit released its financial statements. Further financial statements will demonstrate the sustainability of the brand’s growth and the impact of its spending on retail, manufacturing, and product development on its finances.

How Boldfit Plans to Use the Fresh Capital

The funds raised will be used by Boldfit to improve various areas of its operations.

  1. Nationwide Expansion in Retail

Boldfit aims to expand its retail base in India. It would enable customers to come into direct contact with the products, apart from gaining new methods of reaching out to the customers other than e-commerce platforms.

This decision of expansion in terms of retail also entails various operational issues like investment in stores, planning of inventory, hiring people and choosing location. The success of this decision will depend on how well the firm is able to handle these costs and create demand.

  1. Innovation in Products

Innovation in products is another area that is being worked upon by the company. Boldfit works in sportswear, footwear for athletics, sports gear, fitness requirements, and accessories.

The company produces products that have been linked with sports and sporting events like basketball, cycling, football, volleyball, badminton and cricket. According to Entrackr, Boldfit has more than 400 products in its product line.

  1. Manufacturing Capacity

Lastly, Boldfit will also consider investing in manufacturing capacity. This might help with enhancing the quality of the products, managing the supply chain, as well as creating products that suit customer needs.

The extent of manufacturing capacity investments, as well as the extent of manufacturing in-house vs. outsourcing, remains confidential in this case.

  1. Strategic Acquisitions

Additionally, the company may choose to engage in acquisitions to increase its presence and capability in various categories. Acquisitions can give access to new products, technologies, distribution channels or customers. However, Boldfit did not reveal any particular targets for acquisition nor the budget for doing so through this transaction.

Previous Funding and Boldfit’s Growth Strategy

Prior to the recent Series B financing deal, Boldfit had raised ₹110 crore through a Series A financing round headed by Bessemer Venture Partners in November 2024. The new funding round of ₹400 crore is far more substantial than the previous funding deal. With more funds at its disposal, the company will have adequate resources to implement its growth strategy in retailing, manufacturing, and product development.

Established in 2018 by Pallav Bihani and Aasshna Guptaa, Boldfit is a diversified maker of sports and fitness products. It operates on a business model that integrates online sales with an enhanced presence in the physical world. It is clear that Boldfit is working towards creating an integrated business in the sports industry, whereby not only customer acquisition and online sales but also product development, manufacturing, and offline distribution would be funded through the investments. This strategy’s success would hinge on implementation, demand for products, costs, and product quality.
